Free New Jersey CDL practice tests
Practice for the New Jersey commercial driver’s license knowledge tests. The questions follow the federal CDL manual that every state builds its tests on, and every answer is explained.
New Jersey CDL basics
- A commercial learner permit is valid for 180 days.
- You wait at least 14 days with the permit before the skills test, unless the wait is waived.
- Every permit applicant submits the CDL Holder Self-Certification form. Some drivers also need a valid medical examiner's certificate on file.
- Entry-level driver training from a provider on the federal registry comes before the skills test. For a hazmat endorsement it comes before the knowledge test.
