Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information dmvzone.org (“DMVZone”, “we”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. It works together with our Terms & Conditions.
In short: we collect only what we need to run the practice tests and Premium, we do not sell your personal information, and you can ask us to see, fix or delete your data at any time.
1. Who is responsible for your information
DMVZone is the owner of this site and decides how your personal information is used. You can reach us at admin@dmvzone.org.
2. Information we collect
- Account information. Your name and email address when you create an account, or the details from Google if you sign in with Google.
- Purchase information. When you buy Premium, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of your purchase and plan, not your full card number.
- Practice activity. Your answers, scores, bookmarked questions and progress, so we can show your results and weak topics.
- Messages. What you send us when you contact support.
- Usage data. Collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages, the path you take through the site, and approximate country.
- Cookies and similar tools. Small files and scripts that keep you signed in, measure how the site is used, and show ads on the free tests.
Some information is needed to provide the service (for example, an email address to create an account). If you choose not to give it, we may not be able to offer that part of the service.
3. How we use your information
- Give you access to practice tests and Premium.
- Create and manage your account, and save your progress.
- Process payments and prevent fraud.
- Answer your questions and send important messages about your account.
- Understand how the site is used and improve it.
- Show ads on the free tests, which helps keep them free.
- Meet legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of our users.
4. Cookies, advertising and your ad choices
We use cookies that are essential (to keep you signed in), cookies that measure site usage, and cookies used by advertising partners on the free tests. Ads on the free tests are served by Google AdSense, which may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
You can control interest-based ads in several ways:
- Visit Google Ads Settings to turn off personalized ads.
- Use the opt-out tools from the Network Advertising Initiative or the Digital Advertising Alliance.
- Change the advertising settings on your phone or tablet, or block cookies in your browser.
Blocking cookies may affect parts of the site, such as staying signed in. Premium plans do not show ads.
5. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are popular and where people get stuck. We use this information in aggregate to improve the tests and the site.
6. Companies that help us run the site
We rely on trusted providers, who handle information only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase for sign-in, accounts and data storage.
- Stripe for secure payment processing.
- Vercel for hosting the website.
- Google for AdSense advertising, Analytics, Sign in with Google and web fonts.
Each of these has its own privacy policy, which applies to the information they handle. Our team members and advisers may also see information when needed to run or support the site.
7. Sharing and legal disclosures
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers above, and when needed to follow the law, respond to valid requests from public authorities, enforce our terms, or protect against fraud or misuse. We may use information in legal proceedings that arise from improper use of the site.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep information for as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, such as for as long as you have an account, and longer only if the law requires or you have agreed. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
9. Security
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections (TLS) and secure third-party payment processing, and we limit who can access it. No website can promise perfect security, so please keep your password private.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your information or close your account.
- Restrict or stop certain uses, including marketing emails, which you can also leave using the link in any email.
- Send your information to you or to another service in a common format.
- Withdraw consent you have given earlier.
To make a request, email admin@dmvzone.org from the address on your account. We aim to reply within one month. There is no charge. If you are unhappy with our answer, you may contact your local data protection authority.
11. Children
DMVZone is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and if we learn we have, we will delete it. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before buying Premium.
12. System logs
To keep the site running and secure, our systems and providers record technical logs of requests to the site, which can include your IP address, browser, and the time and page requested.
13. Where information is processed
Our service providers operate mainly in the United States. If you use the site from another country, your information may be processed in the United States.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new “last updated” date, and where the change affects choices you made, we will ask again if the law requires it.
