Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Welcome to DMVZone. These Terms & Conditions are an agreement between you and DMVZone about how you may use dmvzone.org, our free tests and Premium. Please read them with our Privacy Policy. By using the site you agree to both. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
In short: DMVZone is a private study site, not a government agency. It helps you prepare, but it cannot promise you will pass. Use it for your own study, keep your password private, and contact us if anything goes wrong.
1. What DMVZone is, and what it is not
DMVZone is a private company that offers practice tests to help you prepare for your state’s written permit test. Free tests are open to everyone. Premium adds more exam-style tests and features. We are not owned or run by, or affiliated with, any state DMV, motor vehicle agency, or other government body. When we use the letters “DMV” we do so only to describe the kind of test you are preparing for.
2. Your state’s official manual comes first
Our practice questions are written in the style of the real written test and are based on each state’s official driver manual and laws. Drivers’ manuals are available free from your state. We work to keep our content accurate, but we may sometimes word or read something differently from the manual. If anything here differs from your state’s official manual or laws, the official manual and laws are correct.
Practice tests are a study aid. We do not claim you will see the same questions on the official test, and we cannot guarantee that you will pass. Results depend on many things, including how much you study.
3. Who can use the site
- You must be at least 13 years old. We do not create accounts for children under 13.
- If you are under 18 and want to buy Premium, a parent or guardian must agree to the purchase and the payment.
- By creating an account, you confirm you can legally enter into this agreement.
4. Your account
- Give us true, current information, and keep it up to date, including your email address.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account, so tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
- Each account is for one person. Share Premium only if your plan says you can (for example, Family Sharing).
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or uses false information.
- You agree we may send you notices about your account by email or on the site, and you can stop optional marketing emails at any time.
5. Premium
- Premium is sold as a one-time payment for a set period (for example 7 days or 30 days) or for lifetime access, as shown when you buy. It does not renew automatically, and there is no subscription.
- Prices and features for each plan are shown on our Premium page and at checkout before you pay. Plans and prices can change over time, but a change does not affect a purchase you have already made.
- When you buy, you authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge the payment method you provide. We do not store your full card details.
- If you were charged but did not get access, or something else went wrong with your purchase, contact us at support@dmvzone.org and we will work with you to fix it. Please contact us first, before disputing a charge with your bank, so we can resolve it quickly.
6. How you may use our content
We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to use the site and its content to study for your own test. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, post, sell or share our questions, explanations, designs or other materials, or use them commercially.
- Scrape the site, or build a competing product from our content.
- Try to reverse engineer, interfere with, or break the security of the site, or introduce viruses or harmful code.
- Use someone else’s account, or pretend to be another person.
- Break any law while using the site.
If you break these rules, we may end your access without notice, and where appropriate we may report the behavior to the authorities. If you teach a class and want to use DMVZone with several students, contact us about a group arrangement.
7. Our intellectual property
The content on this site, including the questions, explanations, graphics, logos and the DMVZone name, belongs to DMVZone or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. Using the site gives you no ownership of it, and no right to use our names or logos without our written permission.
8. Copyright concerns
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, email support@dmvzone.org with your contact details, a description of the work and where it appears on our site, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, and a statement that your information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We will review notices that include this information.
9. Links to other sites
The site may link to other websites, such as your state’s official DMV site. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them.
10. No warranties
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that the site will always be available, secure or free of errors, or that it will meet your particular needs or give you a particular result on any test.
11. Limit of our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, DMVZone is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, including a failed test. If we are found liable for any reason, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service that caused the claim in the 12 months before it. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
12. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as power or internet outages, problems at our service providers, natural events, or attacks by hackers.
13. If we disagree
Most issues can be solved quickly. Email support@dmvzone.org and tell us what happened. We will review it and reply, usually within a couple of business days. Please try this first before taking any other step.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new “last updated” date. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
15. General
- These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
- If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we do not enforce a right right away, we have not given it up.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else without our written consent.
- These terms are between you and DMVZone only. They do not give rights to anyone else.
