Where is the Flemington road test site?

The MVC lists the Flemington site at 181-B Routes 31 and 202, Ringoes, NJ 08551, in Hunterdon County. It is a full MVC licensing center that also gives road tests.

The MVC facility list shows the Flemington center at 181-B Routes 31 and 202, Ringoes, NJ 08551, as a licensing and road test center. The name says Flemington, but the address is in Ringoes. Another section of the MVC list writes 181 instead of 181-B.

Hunterdon County has few driving schools. KBee's Driving School is on Route 31 North in Ringoes and says it serves Hunterdon and Mercer counties. North Jersey Driving School of Hunterdon lists most of Hunterdon County, including Flemington, Clinton, Hampton and Glen Gardner, plus parts of Warren County. Dil's Driving School in Somerville serves Somerset, Middlesex and Hunterdon counties.

Dil's Driving School notes that the Flemington MVC will issue permits but will not give the eye test needed to validate a permit. Ask your school where to complete the vision test.

A road test needs an appointment. Bring 6 Points of ID, a valid exam permit, and an accompanying NJ licensed driver 21 or older with 3 years licensed. The test takes about 10 to 15 minutes. The examiner must be able to reach the foot or parking brake.

If you fail, wait at least 14 days before you test again. Before you test, you must hold your permit for 6 months if you are under 21 in the GDL program, 3 months if you are a GDL driver over 21, or 20 days if you are not in GDL.

What to bring to the Flemington road test

The MVC requires an appointment, takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and has you wait at least 14 days to retest after a fail. It checks reversing, stopping at signs, intersections, smooth stopping, steering, parallel parking and yielding.
